ThE oNiN WaRs: He Did it First!
- Many people used the conflict in House Hatayama
as an excuse to resolve old feuds. Many feuds, old
and new, sprang up all over Japan.
- The Daimyo saw this as a chance to violate the
Emperor's order that prohibited battles between the
Daimyo.
- Two Daimyo, Hosokawa Katsumoto and Yamana
Souzen were major powers during this war; they
caused much of the fighting.
- The fighting would stop when one powerful
Daimyo, Oda Nobunaga, captures Kyoto and
siezes power.
